With all of the tragic mass shootings that have been occurring, the President has recently been stating “When in God’s Name” this and “When in God’s Name” that…. This has really struck a chord with me, this dishonors God and offends me. This was the last straw for me in light of the current state of the economy and America. The current administration from the President down needs to stop using God’s name in vain!
Typically I am not a person who delves highly into politics because I have always felt and still feel that God is in control. Just as he always has and will always be. But, using the name of the Lord in vain is unacceptable to me as a Christ follower. I would expect the President to have the same respect for my God as he does the LBGT Community, the promotion of homosexuality and transgender persons, global warming and clean energy, etc.
It offends me to hear the name of the Lord used in VAIN from the President of the United States of America. We as Christ followers have a choice. We can either sit by and allow things like this to occur and not say anything. OR we can begin to make some noise and let it be known that our God deserves more respect than the issues that are being promoted and are sins according to the Bible.
I am not foolish enough to believe that evil does not exist in this world. As it is running rampant. However, I am tired of the non-believers always winning and taking our God and the right to worship away from believers. The scales are not balanced. When does it stop?
If you are a Christ follower, I challenge you to start writing letters and/or emails to the President of the United States and ask him to STOP using God’s name in VAIN from the Presidential Podium and during any of his speeches as a representative of the people of the United States of America. Christ followers deserve the same respect as the other items on this administrations agenda. Christ followers are voters too!
The letter that I sent the President of the United States was 7 pages long and I hope that other Christ followers will stand up and share your discord with this issue and others as well.
The gun violence is escalating. Violence in general is rising. At this time, we NEED God more than ever! It’s time to stand up for God who gave his life for us.
There are prayers for all of the families who have suffered loss due to the violence in this world being lifted up to God. He will always see you through whatever your life challenges are. We do not always get the answers that we are looking for, but, God does have a plan for us, and we may not see it till it all comes together. He is always working behind the scenes and we do not always realize it. May God be with you today as you have taken the time to read this blog, and God knows what is laying heavy on your heart. Seek God first! May the peace of God be with you!
