Are you interested in business? Being in your own business? Working for someone in business? What are you looking for in the field of business?
Being in business is either in your blood or it is not in your blood. If you have an interest and a passion for business you can be very successful. It is all up to you.
I heard on the radio a while back that the younger generation today is working to live where the older generation was living to work. As you think about this statement, it does have some truth to it. It does not appear the younger generation has the determination to put the hours in to advance their career. They want the typical 8-5 job and go home. They enjoy their leisure time and time off more than climbing the corporate ladder. The older generation was/is about climbing the corporate ladder, working more and less time off. The older generation would rather have the money and the younger generation would rather have the time off.
If the above paragraph has some validity to it…where does that leave businesses? Coming out of the pandemic over the past two years, businesses are all about re-vamping. Especially, after all of the closings of businesses due to the pandemic and not being able to survive.
Not only do we have a younger work force, we have a younger work force that really doesn’t want to work. Add this on top of the personnel shortages and the supply chain issues – what do we have?
We have more Online businesses. We have a whole new world of technology. We have more people working from home. Our whole concept of business is evolving into a new normal. As we evolve into our new normal. Businesses will continue to take a hit. More companies are learning they can survive on less brick & mortar locations. This means more vacant spaces. This will have a negative impact on real estate. There is always a cause and effect that happens. The pandemic has showed the financial institutions they don’t need as many branches. People were forced to do their business via ATM’s, drive through tellers, etc. Many other businesses have experienced the same thing.
What is your opinion of businesses today and in the future?
